A defence of Trump Supporters

Harvey’s Introduction

I don’t know the author of this essay, but i don’t have to. It is an opinion essay and i agree with virtually all of his points which lay out his understanding of why Trump garnered such great and loyal support.

Welcome to the Era of Nonstop Stimulus

Harvey’s Introduction
Biden has promised us huge amounts of new spending and Pelosi’s change of House rules will take off any restraints from doing that. He believes we need this “stimulus” to push the economy forward. But the economy is recovering nicely all by itself and would fully recover as it opens more with vaccines widely adopted. Biden’s planned increased taxing and regulation will dampen growth just as happened under Obama. Two experts, Phil Gramm and Mike Solon explain all this in an oped in the WSJ.

Scapegoating Walmart

Harvey’s Introduction

When people in government abuse the considerable power, I am outraged. The Justice Department’s suit of Walmart, blaming them for contributing to the Opioid is simply wrong. Rather they should have pursued those in government who did not action when they should have. Read this article and get mad also.

Cold War With China Is Avoidable

Harvey’s Introduction

This essay was written by a former Dean at the Kennedy School at Harvard. It could only be written by an academic and is laughable on its face. It’s what passes for deep thinking and is utterly ridiculous. He describes why we need to continue to have relationships with China because of our interdependence on trade with them, unlike the situation in the Cold War with the then U.S.S.R. He describes the bad behavior China has exhibited. He describes actions we should not take. All good and well. He then describes his strategy going forward. His recommendation is “…require a clear strategy with well-defined goals…and defending values consistent with freedom.” Can you imagine anything more banal than this?

A Case Against Walmart Mocks Justice

Harvey’s Introduction

This case, brought by the Department of Justice against Walmart, is illustrative of prosecutorial overreach by our federal government. Ultimately, it will lose in court, but it will take years to resolve, cost the taxpayers and Walmart millions and be a terrible waste of time and effort. Its a major abuse of power and all because the feds are looking for anyone to blame for the opioid crisis other than federal and state oversight agencies who completely bungled their handling of opioids.

Biden’s Climate All Stars

Biden’s theory of the climate change involves reducing the use of fossil fuels as the end product of energy production. To that end, he must appoint religious adherents of this sect to key positions. Ms Granholm is one of the high priestesses who has demonstrated fully her ability to sacrifice tax payer dollars on this altar. Amazing incompetence as an investor of public money combined with absolute assurance she is right. She’ll now be in a position to throw away billions of dollars and not learn a thing.

In Defense of the Electoral College

Harvey’s Introduction

Every presidential election year there are advocates pushing for eliminating the electoral college. Most of them are Democrats who think their control of large cities would guarantee Democrat winners or people ignorant about the founders’ reasoning behind the electoral college and like the apparent fairness of one person, one vote. The rest of us have to be more educated about the pros and cons before we toss out what some very smart guys decided and has served us well for a couple of hundred years.

Biden’s Assault On Red States

Harvey’s Introduction

Biden claims he doesn’t see red or blue states, only united states. He’s either ignorant of how is policies would affect different states or he’s a bald faced liar. I didn’t get around to posting this editorial for a while, but its analysis is still germane and correct.

Biden’s Likely Policies – Essay #1

Harvey’s Introduction

I got to know Kevin when he was head of the Economics Policy group at American Enterprise Institute. He’s exceedingly bright, not ideological and completely fact and analytic based. I admire him and his work. This essay is the first of what he says will be a series on various aspects of a likely policy agenda of a Biden administration, if we are so unfortunate as to have this pliable, mediocre man become president. Kevin’s essays will be interesting and thoroughly researched. To make it easy for the reader of this blog to find them, I’ve set up a new category “Biden’s Policies” which will hold all of Kevin;s essays.

What Is At Stake In This Election

Harvey’s Introduction

One of the absolute best speeches I’ve ever heard. Klingenstein explains clearly the differences in beliefs about our nation on the part of the two parties and the implications of those differences on our future. Brilliant and absolutely clear.
